CHENERSPORTS FIT GUIDE

Find the Fit That Moves With You.

Fit is more than a size label. Learn how compression, stretch, silhouette, garment length, support, and personal preference can change the way activewear feels during yoga, training, and everyday movement.

01

Size and Fit Are Not the Same Thing

A size tells you roughly which body-measurement range a garment is designed for. Fit describes how that garment is intended to sit, stretch, drape, or compress on your body.

SIZE Which range matches your body?

Use your bust/chest, waist, hips, and inseam together with the product-specific size chart.

FIT How should the garment feel?

Check whether the style is compression, fitted, regular, relaxed, or oversized and consider your own preference.

Use the Size Guide first

If you have not measured yourself yet, start with our Size Guide. Then use this Fit Guide to decide how you want the selected size to feel.

02

The Fit Spectrum

Product descriptions may use different fit terms. These terms describe the intended silhouette rather than a guarantee of how the garment will feel on every body.

01 Compression Closest feel

Designed to feel more supportive and close to the body. Check product-specific notes before sizing down.

02 Fitted Close to body

Follows the body shape without necessarily providing strong compression.

03 Regular Balanced fit

Designed with a more standard amount of room for everyday training and movement.

04 Relaxed More room

Offers extra ease through the body for comfort and layering.

05 Oversized Most room

Intentionally cut larger for a looser silhouette. Do not automatically size down unless that is your preference.

03

Stretch, Recovery & Movement

Stretch changes how a garment accommodates movement, but stretch does not mean that every size will fit equally well.

LOWER STRETCH Prioritize accurate measurements

Garments with limited stretch generally have less tolerance for choosing a size outside your body-measurement range.

MODERATE STRETCH Balanced movement and structure

Many training garments use some stretch while still maintaining a defined shape.

HIGHER STRETCH More flexibility, not unlimited sizing

Stretch may accommodate movement and fit variation, but excessive stretching can affect comfort, opacity, and garment life.

Do not size down only because fabric stretches

Overstretching can create unnecessary pressure or distortion. Use the product's size information and intended fit rather than treating stretch as a substitute for correct sizing.

04

How Leggings & Fitted Bottoms Should Feel

Leggings and fitted bottoms should feel secure enough for the intended activity while still allowing comfortable movement.

WAISTBAND Secure, not painful

The waistband should stay in place reasonably well without painful digging, excessive rolling, or restricting normal breathing.

HIPS & SEAT Enough room to move

The fabric should accommodate bending and squatting without excessive pulling at seams or the waistband.

LEGS Smooth, intended tension

Some styles are designed to feel close, but material should not create painful pressure or restrict ordinary movement.

LENGTH Check inseam and rise

Full length, ankle, cropped, and shorts styles can sit differently even in the same labeled size.

Squat and move during your fit check

Before removing tags or washing, gently squat, bend, and walk to see whether the garment remains comfortable and positioned as expected.

05

Sports Bra Fit

Sports-bra fit depends on the design, coverage, straps, band construction, fabric, and intended support level.

  • The underband should feel secure without painful pressure.
  • Straps should sit comfortably without excessive digging or slipping.
  • The garment should allow normal breathing and arm movement.
  • Coverage should remain appropriate for the intended activity.
  • There should not be obvious gaping caused by a too-large fit or painful compression caused by a too-small fit.
Light SupportLower-impact movement and studio use where appropriate
Medium SupportMore structured support for varied training
Higher SupportMore secure construction where the product is specifically designed for it
Use product-specific support information

Not every sports bra is designed for the same activity or support level. Check the individual product description before purchasing.

06

Tops, Tees, Jackets & Layers

Tops and outer layers can be designed close to the body or intentionally loose. Start with bust/chest measurements, then consider shoulder movement, sleeve length, and how much room you prefer through the torso.

Fitted Tops

Should follow the body without restricting normal arm movement or breathing.

Training Tees

Usually allow enough room for comfortable shoulder and torso movement during exercise.

Jackets & Cover-Ups

Consider whether you plan to wear a sports bra, fitted top, or another layer underneath.

Oversized Styles

Extra room is part of the design. Compare product images and measurements before automatically choosing a smaller size.

07

Shorts & Joggers

Shorts and joggers can vary significantly in rise, leg opening, inseam, waistband structure, and intended silhouette.

  • Training shorts: check waist, hips, inseam, and how much room you prefer through the thigh.
  • Fitted shorts: use the same waist/hip approach you would use for leggings.
  • Relaxed shorts: are intentionally roomier through the leg.
  • Joggers: check waist, hip, rise, and inseam; tapered legs may feel closer at the calf or ankle.
Rise changes the feel

High-rise, mid-rise, and lower-rise bottoms can feel different even when waist and hip measurements are the same.

08

Choosing Fit by Activity

Different activities can lead customers to prefer different fits. The right choice is personal, so use this as general guidance rather than a rule.

YOGA / PILATES Movement & comfort

Many customers prefer a secure waistband and flexible fit that stays comfortable through bending and stretching.

STRENGTH TRAINING Secure without restriction

A closer fit can reduce excess fabric, while tops or shorts may be chosen according to movement and personal preference.

CARDIO Stable fit during movement

Customers may prefer pieces that remain reasonably secure during repeated movement.

EVERYDAY / RECOVERY Comfort & room

Relaxed tops, joggers, and layers may be preferred when performance compression is not the goal.

09

Between Two Sizes?

If your measurements sit between two sizes, do not use only the size label to decide. Consider the product's stretch, fit category, and the body area most important to that garment.

CONSIDER THE SMALLER SIZE WHEN
  • Your key measurements remain within the smaller range
  • The fabric is designed for stretch
  • You prefer a closer fit
  • The product notes indicate a flexible or compressive construction
CONSIDER THE LARGER SIZE WHEN
  • Your hips, bust/chest, or thighs fall into the larger range
  • You prefer more room
  • The fabric has less stretch
  • You plan to layer underneath
Prioritize the key body area

For leggings and fitted shorts, waist and hips usually matter most. For tops and sports bras, bust/chest usually matters more. For joggers and trousers, also check inseam and rise.

How to Check the Fit at Home

When you receive apparel, try it on carefully before washing or removing tags if you may want to return it.

01 Stand Naturally

Check whether the garment sits where expected without excessive pulling, sagging, or twisting.

02 Move

Raise your arms, walk, bend, and gently squat to test normal movement.

03 Check Pressure

Close-fitting activewear can feel secure, but it should not cause painful pressure or interfere with normal breathing.

04 Check Coverage & Length

Review waistband position, top length, sleeve length, inseam, and coverage against your preference.

Reasonable fit check

A reasonable try-on is generally compatible with our return policy. For an ordinary eligible return, apparel should remain unworn beyond a fit check, unwashed, unaltered, and free from stains, odors, deodorant marks, pet hair, or other contamination.

11

Signs the Fit May Not Be Right

If an item feels wrong, the pattern of the problem can help indicate whether you need a different size or simply a different style.

POSSIBLY TOO SMALL
  • Painful waistband or band pressure
  • Restricted normal movement or breathing
  • Strong pulling at seams or crotch
  • Fabric visibly overstretched beyond the intended appearance
POSSIBLY TOO LARGE
  • Waistband repeatedly slips during ordinary movement
  • Excessive gaping or loose fabric where the style is intended to be fitted
  • Shoulders or straps repeatedly fall out of position
  • Garment twists or shifts because there is too much room

These signs are general. A deliberately relaxed or oversized product will naturally have more room, while a compression garment will intentionally feel closer.
